Trish Kritek

Professor of Medicine, Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine; Vice Dean for Faculty Affairs; Interim Chair, Department of Medicine

Dr. Trish Kritek is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine and serves as the Vice Dean for Faculty Affairs and Interim Chair of the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She is an ICU physician and nationally recognized clinician-educator dedicated to advancing faculty development, mentorship, leadership, and equity in academic medicine.

As Vice Dean, Dr. Kritek leads initiatives that support faculty success across all career stages, with a focus on career development, well-being, and inclusive leadership. She directs the UW Medicine Rising Leaders Program, a year-long leadership course for early- to mid-career faculty, and has chaired the Committee for Women in Medicine and Science, as well as led all gender equity reviews for the School of Medicine.

Dr. Kritek completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and her fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine through the Harvard Combined Training Program. She also holds an EdM from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Her scholarship focuses on feedback, interactive teaching strategies, and the career development of clinician educators. A frequent speaker and author on these topics, Dr. Kritek’s teaching interests span ventilator management, patient- and family-centered care, mentoring, and faculty feedback.
