Healthcare Finance 101

Overview
This workshop provides an overview for all faculty on healthcare finances. Topics covered in this event include how we as a health system get paid, with a focus on fee-for-service, fee-for-value, and Medicare payment processes.
Healthcare Finance 3-part Series Objectives:
- Learn how UW Medicine gets paid including fee for service, fee for value, and Medicare.
- Learn about current blended model of value-based care with fee for service, as well as mitigation strategies for issues related to insurance and billing.
- Learn about other models of healthcare finance in the competitive landscape and strategize where UW Medicine could adjust their models to improve the work and patient experience.
