Week 3 – Stress and Burnout: Understanding Empathy vs. Compassion; Self-Compassion for Caregiver Fatigue
Training will include brief instructive talks, experiential exercises, and interactive small group discussions for application to daily challenges.
In this 6-part series, participants will learn tools to:
- Care for oneself while caring for others
- Be aware of present moment experience (mindfulness)
- Listen with compassion
- Handle difficult emotions with greater ease
- Reconnect to the values that give meaning to your life and work.
- Interact with colleagues, building a sense of community
This course will be moderated by Anne Browning, Ph.D., Chief Well-Being Officer for UW Medicine, and taught by Elizabeth Lin, M.D.
